Stone Forts on Inis Meain

There are two forts on Inis Meain:

• Dun Chonchuir - this is the best example of a circular fort on all three of the islands.

• Dun Fearbhai

Churches

• Mary Immaculate Church has beautiful stained-glass windows by the famous Harry Clarke Studios. The altar was built by James Pearse, father of the Irish patriot Pádraic Pearse.

• Cill Cheanainn According to legend, Cheannain was the mother of 'the seven sons of the king', which is the name of another church nearby.
